Fast Five

Five things that are currently happening or have happened recently in our life:

1. Kairi is currently going through full scope IEP (Individualized Education Plan) testing to see if she has a learning disability. She is showing a lot of improvement in her school work but still behind and is still writing letters and numbers backwards occasionally.

2. All the boys got haircuts by ME! Scott received clippers for Christmas from my mom so I put them to use. They all look so handsome and Calibur looks so much older!

3. We went ice skating this past Saturday and we had so much fun! I was very impressed with all of the children. Cameron would not let me take him around the ice like I did with the other children but instead analyzed the situation from the wall before giving it a go but then did really well. The first time Caspian let go of the wall he fell pretty bad and I think that scared him but he did stay out on the ice the whole time. Kairi didn't want my help and she didn't really need it. She fell many times but got right back up and tried again. Calibur did amazing! He fell a lot but there were many times when he was keeping up with me (I was skating backwards with him skating in front of me). I think we might have a future Hockey player or two! They can't wait to go back.

4. Scott is doing really well in school. Straight A's! He is juggling work and school like a champ!

5. This one isn't really exciting but I got two of the teeth that have been bothering me fixed last week and boy do I feel better! Now just to get these wisdom teeth out!

total fail.

Four blog posts in over half a year and they were mainly pictures. I'm going to chalk that up as a fail.

I'm going to try again though. My goal is to have a blog post and new layout by Friday. I just hate this layout now. After Friday I hope to post at least one new entry per week. That's not much, right? One a week.

Our Weekend

Saturday morning Cameron and I went to the local farmers market. The younger children stayed home with Scott since they weren't feeling well. We've been battling a cold since the day after school ended. Nevertheless, I enjoyed our one on one time and I think he did too. We picked up some veggies, fruit, cheese, eggs, and meat. I scored a nice tomato plant and we brought home freshly baked cookies and brownies for everyone. 

Sunday was Caspian's birthday. I cannot believe he is SEVEN! Time really needs to slow down. We didn't have a party because we have a group birthday planned at the beginning of July. "The bigs" (Cameron, Caspian, and Kairi) and I went to Lowe's Home Improvement today for their Build and Grow event. They each built a Madagascar 3 Monkey-Powered Plane.

Then we made CUPCAKES!
